How Does it Work?
Your Unique Wellness Vision
One of the first steps you will take on your journey to wellness is to create your own personal Wellness Vision. A Wellness Vision is a written statement that includes details of what you want yourself to be like, to feel like and to look like at your optimal level of wellness. What will you be able to do at your optimal level of wellness that you are not able to do now? After you have identified what your Wellness Vision is, we will work together to identify and document your deepest motivators, what challenges or obstacles you see and strategies for overcoming those obstacles.
Three-Month Goals
After you have created your Wellness Vision, we will work together to identify the areas in which you are ready to make personal and lasting change. We will typically tackle 2 or 3 main areas at a time so that you do not get overwhelmed. I will ask you to create a set of Three-Month Goals. These goals are goals that you choose, but they must be specific, measurable and realistic. We will explore why you have chosen these goals to work on, what is motivating you to want to change and we will discuss the obstacles that you perceive to be in your way. We will document these Three-Month goals, and continually refer back to them as we coach to make sure that you are on track.
Weekly Goals
Once you have identified your Three Month goals and written them down, we will pick an area that you are ready to work on. I will then ask you to create a group of weekly goals around the area(s) that you are ready to work on. These weekly goals are really “baby steps” that will help you to slowly change your unhealthy habits into healthier habits. Through our weekly coaching calls, we will review how you did on the prior weeks goals and document your progress. We will identify successes and celebrate together. We will also identify and discuss any challenges you had and we will formulate a series of strategies to overcome these challenges. Then, I will have you create a new set of weekly goals that moves you further toward reaching your Three-Month Goals. As we coach together, inevitably you will hit roadblocks. This is a normal and expected part of the process of change. We will address this roadblock head on and explore it so that you can gain awareness of and define the exact problem with clarity. Using a variety of "tools" in my toolbox, I will help you blast through that roadblock so that you can achieve the progress you want to achieve. Little by little, step by step, you will start to change your behaviors and as you see and feel progress, you will gain a new level of confidence that you CAN be the YOU that you have always wanted to be!
